Dr Tuulikki Sokka is a Consultant in Rheumatology at Jyväskylä Central Hospital and a Senior Researcher at Medcare Oy, Finland.

Dr Sokka’s research interests include early rheumatoid arthritis and long-term outcomes of patients with rheumatoid arthritis.

She is also conducting a multi-national project which monitors patients with rheumatoid arthritis as part of routine clinical care.

Dr Sokka graduated from Tampere University Medical School, Tampere, Finland, in 1985. She was awarded her doctorate degree in 1999 and her docent degree in 2003, from Kuopio University, Kuopio, Finland.

In January 1986 Dr Sokka joined the rheumatology clinic at Jyväskylä Central Hospital, Jyväskylä, Finland.

Between 1999 and 2006 she worked with Dr Ted Pincus at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, USA. Dr Sokka is on the editorial boards of three rheumatology journals and she has published approximately 100 peer-reviewed articles in international medical journals.
